Default additional donations from an event form to default to the linked event
Event registrations from a given event form link automatically to the event record, but additional donations do not. This seems like an oversight, forcing the manual linking of additional donations within the gift batch.

I also have the same issue. When an additional donation comes from Online Express it doesn't go into the participant's "Other Donations" tab but in fact, is attached to the constituent record gift tab.
The Additional Donation option lets registrants make a gift in addition to their registration fees. This donation is considered part of the registration payment and is on the same gift record. So silly. When linking the other donation from the batch, a message reveals that the gift is already linked to the event, however there is no visual to this within the participant record. You must look at the constituent's gift record instead. This needs to change!
