Sustaining Donor Portal
In Blackbaud's recent reporting series called "Sustainers in Focus," the researchers describe the value of giving donors the ability to manage their own giving by, for example, updating their own credit cards or bank information. Currently, a donor who has decided to create a monthly/recurring/sustaining donation does not have any control after the donation is made. The best that we have been able to do is manually send email notifications with more information and an introduction to our staff, who would be able to assist them with any needs. That step is a given and great for stewardship but all things being said... wouldn't it be great for a donor portal to exist - giving these sustaining donors access and full information about their giving? For example, if at 11 p.m. at night they want to increase their donation, they could! Or if they wanted to see a history of their gifts, no problem - it's at their finger tips.

if this is too large an undertaking for now, just a form to update their bank or credit card information through online express would be extremely helpful. Our donors are always asking for this.
