We use Wufoo forms and either Square or PayPal to process the Auto Renewal, because after YEARS of waiting for this in RE/OLX, we have given up.
Does anyone know why they have been opposed to this? Is it a technical issue?
I just went through support with this--they said there are no plans to update this! We are considering third party options now. We are looking into adding a subscription membership that is monthly and it is just not optional to hunt a large amount of members down every month to renew. They do suggest making it a "renewing" donation, but the language in the form is not alterable to reflect a membership and they must all be manually linked.
How do people get around this not being an option with online express. It is amazing to me that we are not able to do this. We end up having to essentially recruit the same people each year.

recurring payment for automatic renewal, but also the option for members to choose to pay their membership all at once or break it out into monthly payments.
To add to statement before - we still have to keep a separate merchant account active with Auth.net to manage our members who want to auto-renew, would be great to not need that other merchant account.
Because this gift type is available under the donation form(s), it should not be difficult to implement for the membership forms. Ideally we'd like to be able to 'fine tune' the form to note the member their card would be charged 2 weeks out from expiring. This would save us on renewal mailings, and increase retention!
