Hard bounce information removed from 'Unusable Emails' section after 30 days

I just found out today, after going to Support, that while opt-out information is retained, hard bounce emails are removed after 30 days. There is no info button to state this and I can't see a suitable reason for this.

Opt-outs get their Consent record automatically updated in RE, so there isn't a need to have this, but I hadn't checked for hard bounces in a while (usually doing this regularly, but it fell by the wayside with the business of this pandemic), I now have to try and work out which ones have hard bounced, to flag them in RE.
